Festival Information

The Battle of Flowers Band Festival is one of the most popular family events of Fiesta week! It gathers local and area high school bands for a spectacular, musical evening. Precision marching, festive and patriotic music, along with twirlers and flag performers are some of the thrilling attractions offered. The grand finale showcases all of the bands performing together as fireworks burst overhead.

Band Festival Buttons/Patches

A new patch is designed each year!
The patch reflects the year's theme as shown in the 2008 design to the left.  They are sold at both the Band Festival Rehearsal and the Band Festival for $3 each. Patches from past years are also available in limited quantities. They sell for $1.00 each.

Band Festival Program Cover Design Contest

The Design Contest is open to all San Antonio high school students. To read the contest rules and details click here. For 2008, Robert E. Lee High School's Rebecca Stanley came up with the winning design.  Her artwork was selected to be on the cover of the program and will be treated to a ride in the Battle of Flowers Parade. See the Winners page for this year's results.
